1st HANDS-ON COURSE

TOPIC : PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SMALL HOUSE DEVELOPMENT

The New Territories Small House Policy has experienced a long development history since 1972. The procedures for planning and implementation of small house development has been increasingly complicated and detailed. A Land Administrator is usually faced with the continual policy as well as procedural changes and should thus be prepared to tackle and adapt to those changes.

The Institute launches this Hands-on Course for the purpose of strengthening members' understanding of the recent changes in Small House Policy and its procedures and their application in daily work with a view to increasing the efficiency of planning and implementation of small house development and ultimately rendering the customer a quality service.

The Institute has the honour to invite Mr. Chan Hon Man, a very experienced Land Executive in Lands Department, to share with us his invaluable working experiences in determining a workable small house development proposal. There will also be an open forum during the course to let members share their practical experiences in this field.

CONTENT

The course content is divided into four parts:
  1. An analysis on the suitability of a site for small house development;
  2. Common problems which would hinder the viability of a small house development proposal;
  3. A brief introduction to the new guidelines issued by government regarding application for Certificate of Exemption under the NT Small House Policy;
  4. Hands-on Exercise : Each participant will be provided with a questionnaire for practical work, which is then followed by discussion upon completion.

(Grand Royal Club actually charges HK$80.00 per person, so the Institute subsidizes HK$30.00 per person)
